When you're creating a character, you and your ST will go over your Merits and Flaws and clarify any version inconsistencies so that the application is understood prior to play.В However a safe rule of thumb is that 20th Anniversary fromВ V20 and W20 usually works fine unless there's a need to use venue only mechanics in Mage:В the Ascension. Mage:В the Ascension is most notable for our purposes. Understand that we are partially transitioned to 20th Anniversary Edition, but there are still venues without 20th Anniversary lists of Merits and Flaws as they have yet to be published by Onyx Path.
